Melbourne Cup Day

Melbourne Cup Day is big news here. Our office packed up at lunch time and we all trundled down to the local...The Edinburgh Castle for some lunch, beer, and of course to watch the horses on the screen.

I put my money on 'Geordie land' (the nearest name to home) and lost. The betting shops were a nightmare, people were queueing down the streets to get in and place a bet.

It turned out to be quite a session and the following day at work most people looked green!
