Saw my birthday in on Saturday night at The Gaff with the usual suspects there. Everyone was on good form and the DJ did a shout out for me.

Sunday was suppose to be a beach bbq but as we didn't get back until gone 4am, no one was up before noon and we settled for a bbq on the roof terrace. I went out with Emma to get the meat and left the boys to cook it. Was quite a chilled out evening and as the sun went down and the air turned chilly, we went inside for a few drinks and played cards.

My first call from the UK was mum and Lin who phoned early evening on Sunday to wish me a happy birthday - that's when it really felt like my birthday and after I'd put the phone down to them, we all raised a glass to me.

Monday morning at work I was called over by my boss (I was racking my brains trying to think what I could have done wrong). Everyone was gathered around a meeting table with a huge cake on it. Of course, I was so embarrassed and filled the silence with jibbering rubbish - nice one Sam!

All in all it was a great birthday and weekend.
